SSS, Are you kidding Us? It’s not funny.

Okay. I had all the info needed to register my account at the new SSS website and I’ve got to say, grabe, bow ako sa pagka bobo ng systema nila.

Here are the steps at registering a new account. (I have screenshots pero tinatamad akong magupload sa photobucket. Sorry guys.)

1. Go to the SSS website.

2. Click on the My.SSS tab and click on Register sub menu. OR simply click here to go to the page I’m talking about. :)

3. Select Member. It is the default choice anyways so leave it as is.

4. Click Submit.

5. You will be redirected to the Registration page. Sa mga tamad, disregard the first 4 steps and go directly to the Registration page. :)

6. Fill in the fields. You will need your SSS ID, an email address and your employer’s SSS ID.

TIP: Businesses and companies usually post their SSS number in the lobby where the public can easily see it.  Look for a plate similar to the license plates found on cars and jeepneys. OR you can just ask your HR officers and receptions for the company’s SSS number.

7. After you have completed the form and clicked Submit, a page will prompt you that your password will be sent to your email address.

AND THIS IS WHERE I’M REALLY PISSED OFF!!!!!!! I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY PASSWORD IN MY INBOX OR SPAM BOX! HALLER! IT IS STANDARD OPERATION OF ANY WEBSITE TO SEND A CONFIRMATION EMAIL WITHIN SECONDS!

So I said, okay, perhaps they really did send the comfirmation email and that kinuha lang mumu from my inbox. So I clicked on the “Forgot Password?” link na available naman sa login page. And behold, this is what I got:

(I deliberately erased my email address. Mahirap na, baka matrace nla account ko at nakawin nila lahat ng contributions ko just to spite me. :) )

And then I said, okay, siguro I typed the wrong email address and I thought I will just fill up the form in the Registration page again. And this what I got:

Yep, EMAIL ADDRESS ALREADY EXISTS. Pano ba yan, does not exist raw sabi nya sa Forgot password page tapos already exist dito????!!!!!! WAATT-DA-EEFFFF??!!!.

I give up. Hindi ako naka login sa account kasi walang password. And I won’t bet at receiving it anytime soon. At gaya ng ID, baka sira na naman ang machine nila na taga-gawa ng PASSWORD!!! I just hope secure ang website nila because we are giving important info in there. Bwesit talaga.

Ipa-Imbestigador kaya natin to? And FYI, I wrote to ABS-CBN about this, LOL. Hindi ako nakatanggap ng reply. :)

Any of you guys had this problem? Let us know naman what to expect inside the precious SSS account. Parang wala atang successful na nka-register ah. Except for the developers siguro. Well, if the developers are Filipinos, mahiya naman kayo! We prided ourselves as India’s competitors when it comes to IT solutions. THE SITE IS DREADFUL. FIX IT!

How to archive your mails in MS Outlook

  1. In your main Outlook window, click on File > New > Outlook Data File > Office Outlook Personal Folders File (pst)
  2. Enter a filename and browse to a folder where you would like to place the data file. (Tip: Place your outlook archive in a folder named “outlook” or “email” on your data drive (usually labeled drive E: or F:))
  3. CLick OK. In a newly opened window type the Name (how your offline folder will look in Microsoft Outlook folders’ tree), choose Encryption Settings if needed and password.
  4. Drag’n’drop your items/folders from Exchange Server Mailbox into newly-created Personal Folder.

Special thanks to Ryan Lucero, our system adminstrator at PODD, for these steps. (I didn’t ask his permission to use his memorandum email titled “Urgent Announcement”. LOL)

How to Say “No”

I read this good how-to tip from Cosmo mag and thought all of us could use these advices.

  1. Listen before you respond. Because of your conditioning, whenever we hear “Can you do me a favor?” we automatically say yes. Ask what the favor is first, then think about it. Maybe you can help out even when you say no (I’m busy on Saturday, but I can come over on Friday night and help you decorate.”) or you can give other suggestions.
  2. Be polite but firm. People may extremely hurt and rejected if you turn them down. By being polite, you let them understand it’s the favor you’re rejecting, not them. By being firm, you let them know you can’t be bullied into doing something.
  3. Be honest. The truth is appreciated by all and it also frees you from feeling guilt. When you tell them the reason you can’t say yes (”I can’t lend you the money because I’m in debt myself.”) you not only avoid persistent needling, you also save yourself from future favors of the same kind.
  4. Keep it short. A simple answer will do, while a lengthy explanation makes you look like you’re making excuses. Don’t apologize - you shouldn’t feel sorry you have a life.

SSS ID Application Walkthrough

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE WORKING FOR SSS. The steps you’ll read below is a documentation on my experience how I got my SSS ID. While I appreciate your comments, I can not do anything for any of your complaints nor could I answer any of your questions with regards to your personal SSS accounts. If the SSS website is down, I can not do anything about that.

Owkayz?? :)

—————————————

I wrote a new article that documented the steps on registering an account on the new SSS website. Please visit here: SSS, Are you kidding us? It’s not funny.

—————————————

We all need the SSS ID, right? Isa sa mga “Valid” IDs na ipapepresent kahit saan. And I’m sure lahat natatakot at nasisindak sa sangkatutak na taong nagpipila sa loob at labas ng SSS office.

If you are still to get an SSS number, too bad. You have to join that line of people. But for those who already have their number and will now be applying for the SSS ID, hurrayyy.. No need to waste your sweat on that stampede.

I applied for the SSS ID this morning and it was just a breeze. So go get yourselves that precious VALID ID, hehe. Here’s how.

1. Download the E-6 form from the SSS website. Click on Forms at the left navigation pane. Then select E-6 from the list. Or click here for the direct link: E6 Form. Print then fill up the information needed. Do not worry about the Employer ID info required in the form. Just read on.

2. Click Online Inquiry at the navigation pane at the left panel and Log-in to your account. Log in using your SSS number, surname and birthdate. You will be directed to the Employee Static Information page. Member Details will be shown.

3. Click on Employment History at the left panel. You will be shown a list of all your employers, past and present. Copy the employer number of your company into the form.

4. Click SSS ID Clearance at the left panel. If the note says “Member Qualified for an SSS ID Card”, then you are cleared and eligible to apply for the ID. Print this page. Just click the File menu of the browser, then Print.

5. Go to the SSS office. Tell the guard you already have an SSS number, the E-6 form and the ID Clearance and that you are applying for the ID. He should give you a priority for your picture to be taken.

6. Get in line at the SSS ID section and get your picture taken. Present two IDs from the list stated at the 2nd page of the E-6 form. If you have your company ID and an ATM card with your complete name, then you should be fine.

7. You’re done. Just wait for the SSS ID to be mailed at your home or office address (whichever you chose). Or maybe you want to get the SSS ID at their office.

That was just what I did for my SSS ID application. Experiences may vary though. But I think the same system applies to all SSS branches. And by the way, the whole duration of the application didn’t last an hour for me. Went there at 8:00 AM. The earlier, the better. Early bird catches the worm, ika nga.

Additional tips from Rushu (thanks!):

mas maganda ilocate nyo muna kung sang branch kayo pupunta. You can check it here:
http://www.ecc.gov.ph/sssbr.htm

And then after that..since ang SSS website is laging down..you can check it out here..na search ko lng den to s internet..but it could help

Hot Summer Sun

For ladies who love to get the most out of summer by going to the beach and working on that tan, I have these reminders to protect yourselves from the pitiless heat of the sun. These might be basic, but a little reminder doesn’t hurt anyone.

- The sun is at its full blast between 10 AM to 3 PM. It’s best to do your sun frolics before 10 and after 3. Unless you want to be lechon-red by the end of the day…
- Apply plenty of sun-block. The higher the SPF, the better. And apply frequently (every after 30 minutes to an hour).
- A bare face is best on the beach but if you really MUST apply make up, keep it at a minimum. A slight tint on the cheeks, colored lip balms and you’re good.
- Do not forget the hair…my gosh. Can’t have hair like walis tingting after summer, diba. Apply a leave-on conditioner (or any conditioner) to keep your hair protected and moisturized under the sun and chlorine from water chemicals. Conditioner is a cheap but effective way to protect the hair. Slather a generous amout before jumping into the water.
- Lips. Cracked, dry lips are painful. Apply lip balms.
- Protect the eyes with shades and sun-glasses.
- Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. Heat strokes are pretty common during summer.
- Lastly, hats and bongos are also a fashionable way to shield the hair and eyes.
