Top 5 Things I can’t go out without

These are the top 5 things that should be in my bag when I go out (to work, to the mall, hanging out, etc).

1. Cellphone - So I can call someone when I’m stranded somewhere or if I’m broke. Also a nice excuse when I don’t like to talk to someone or participate in a discussion. And when I need to scram, I just tell them GTG, emergency!

2. Lip Balm - Cracked lips are painful. Got to have this in hand.

3. Hair Brush - For the sheer reason that I feel uncomfortable if I do not have one in the bag.

4.  Wallet - money!

5. Handkerchief - I go crazy without a piece of cloth in my hand. :)

So, what’s your top 5 stuff you can’t go out without? hehe.

Complete blog overhaul

SSS ID is no longer for free

SSS has recently passed a proposition paper asking for a P500 fee for processing and printing of the SSS ID. No date has been set yet on when this will be implemented but this proposition is close to being approved.

To those who have not applied for the ID yet, I suggest you apply now that it is still for free.

FYI, the ID can be used for availing SSS benefits, i.e., Salary loan, sickness and Maternity benefits. Not to mention the unquestionable validity for those piece of plastic they call the SSS ID.

Refer to this post on how to get the ID.

——-

Hi. As of this writing, August 14, 2008, I have received no confirmation or updates that the proposal is approved and implemented. Please disregard the title and assume it is still for free and let’s wait in the news because for sure this will be publicized when the proposition is approved. Thanks all.

My Samsung D900i

I finally bought a new phone to replace my antique 3315.. :) I love my new Samsung D900i but there are some things that I wish Samsung could have done better like the battery life and lengthy process for sending an SMS. But the screen/display is great, probably the best there is among this price bracket. Bought it for 11,600 pesos by the way, at Aerophone SM Cebu. What I like about this phone is the design. The sleek sliding mechanism could make anyone stare at it. Mukha talaga cyang sosyal. The camera is great too (3.15 MP). Also, MicroSD external memory is comparatively cheaper compared to Sony Ericsson since we can buy Kingston MicroSD at CR-King for about P600 1 Gig. Can’t have that price when buying Pro Duo or M2, right? Basta, I like this phone. :) I also want to buy the Nokia 6233. Baka may gustong magdonate jan.. hehe.

Banana Split - Super Easy Recipe

Banana SplitI’m too busy to blog these days but I found time in between projects to browse through my stats and was curious that the keyword “Banana Split” has referred several visitors to kulaypinay.com. So I looked for recipes so these visitors won’t get disappointed. Right now, those surfers are redirected to my Food Aphrodisiac post. LOL. Not quite what they’re looking for.

Here’s the easiest Banana Split recipe I ever saw (and I’ve looked through many sites). Taken from kraftfoods.com.

8 CHIPS AHOY! Real Chocolate Chip Cookies, halved
4 small ripe bananas, halved lengthwise
8 small scoops vanilla ice cream (about 1 pint)
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping (or any whipped cream, icing)

  1. STAND 4 cookie halves and 2 banana halves in each of 4 oval ice cream dishes.
  2. LACE 2 scoops of the ice cream in each dish; top evenly with the chocolate topping and whipped topping.
  3. SERVE immediately.

I Want to Kill Dora

dachshound
I was bitten by Dora last Thursday. She’s my landlord’s ugly Dachshound who looks like a giant rat and I hate her.

I was walking towards a faucet when suddenly, she came running at me and bit me on my upper left leg. The bitch!

I was forced to work undertime to consult the wound at the clinic, was told to have 2 anti-tetanus shots and take antibiotics capsules that cost P30 each for 7 days.

Bwesit kayung iro-a! Murag gwapa!

How to archive your mails in MS Outlook

  1. In your main Outlook window, click on File > New > Outlook Data File > Office Outlook Personal Folders File (pst)
  2. Enter a filename and browse to a folder where you would like to place the data file. (Tip: Place your outlook archive in a folder named “outlook” or “email” on your data drive (usually labeled drive E: or F:))
  3. CLick OK. In a newly opened window type the Name (how your offline folder will look in Microsoft Outlook folders’ tree), choose Encryption Settings if needed and password.
  4. Drag’n’drop your items/folders from Exchange Server Mailbox into newly-created Personal Folder.

Special thanks to Ryan Lucero, our system adminstrator at PODD, for these steps. (I didn’t ask his permission to use his memorandum email titled “Urgent Announcement”. LOL)

Philippine Elections

This is my feedback and reaction to Ms. Marlou’s post titled What is a Philippine Election?

—————

I’m 23 and I will be voting for the first time this May 14. I have always been passive about the elections and have always seen it from an outsider’s point of view. This time, I will try to be a concerned Filipino citizen and participate in choosing the people to hold the reins. For the past month, I have been following and watching the news to see which candidates are worth my vote. And to be honest, I still do not know who is deserving. They are all the same, I see them as a power-hungry, corrupt officials who have been milking on the people’s tax. What I hate most are those who bragged about the facilities they have built while they were in position (i.e. a bridge with a huge sign “Contributed by Congressman ____”. The money used for building each and every “project” (for lack of words to use), are taken from the taxpayers’ contributions and how dare them take credit for that.

I have just graduated last 2005 and am in the labor force for 2 years. I have felt the bite of tax contribution. Maybe those who have been working for a longer time now has taken for granted and/or just choose to forget about these deductions. But I do not. I get angry while looking at the “Tax Deduction” in my payslip. It is the amount that I contribute to the politicians’ pockets every month.

This election, I will write the names of those I think are the lesser devils. I won’t vote for actors running for senators. What do they know about the law and lawmaking? I hope I will make a good choice.

One thing that has been in my mind was the words of a woman who lived in one of the squatter areas in Manila. She was interviewed about her views about the candidates and about the elections. She said “kung pagsama-samahin at tuparin ang lahat ng plataporma ng mga kandidato, tapos ang problema ng Pilipinas” (something to that effect). How true!

One show in ABS-CBN was also featuring about what children see about the candidates and politicians, all of them answered that all Philippine politicians are corrupt. How sad is that?

I continuously pray for the betterment of the Philippines. I hope those elected and who will be in power will be conscientious and I hope that they would forget their personal agenda and see what our country desperately needs. What makes me sad is that I know that I shouldn’t hope for such miracles.

Food Aphrodisiacs

This is censored. Promise. LOL.

  1. cheese
Cheese - contains phenylethylamine - the chemical that gives you that high after eating sweets - than chocolate does. (Hmmm.. including Cheezee? Little boys and girls eat that stuff. My God.. There goes my mind again..hahaha)
  2. berries

  3. Frozen berries - from what I’ve read, frozen berries can be used as an alternative to ice cubes and is said to be best for oral toooot. One tip I read was for ladies to pop his tooooot in the mouth while eating berries because it will over-ride his taste and it’s as if you are popping berry-flavored toooot. (Umm.. okayyyy.)
  4. olives
Black Olives / Olives - I failed to get why olives are aphrodisiacs. Maybe because the shape represents his balls? and that olive and olive oil has a positive effect on the cholesterol level in our blood. Ahh, maybe olives would decrease the risk of having a heart attack while doing the deed. (Pwede na rin).
  5. Bananas - Ay, this is classic. Aside from the shape that closely resembles the toooot, bananas have potassium and Vitamin B. These vitamins help with sex-hormone production. And this tip is the best (). It said: ladies, seduce your man by showing what you would do to his tooooot with a banana. (Hahahaha. As for me, I normally bite and chomp off every bit of the banana.)
  6. Asparagus - asparagus is an energy giving food. (You go, tiger).
  7. Ginger - Forget Viagra. Ginger increases blood flow to the cock. (If paired with asparagus, your man is the BOMB!)
  8. Cucumber - <begin quote> “Take off the wrapping, wash it, then use it to give her a thrill. Stick a condom.” <end of quote> (No comment, speechless)
  9. Chilli Peppers - According to some research, spicy foods trigger the release of feel-good endorphins which put you in the mood and boost circulation of blood in your man’s tooooot. (Go feed your man some extra hot pure chillis.)
  10. Whipped Cream - ( I will leave this to the readers’ imagination)
  11. Avocado - avocado contains feel-good, pleasure-intensifying substance phenylethylamine. (Perfect combination: Cheese and avocado,)
  12. banana split

Important Note:
Ever noticed that when you’re full, you get sleepy? Well, if you and your partner are planning a steamy night and start it off with dinner, eat just enough to avoid feeling catatonic. (Makes sense, doesn’t it?)

Someone to Watch Over You

Please read this beautiful story about Faith in our Lord.

A girl went to a party and she ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn’t afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away.

As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger.

When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it.

However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he was waiting for her.

She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God’s protection.

Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her.

When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely.

The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there.

Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep.

Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station.

She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story.

The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him.

She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before.

When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed.

The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her.

She asked if they would ask the man one question.

Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her.

When the policeman asked him, he answered, “Because she wasn’t alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her.”

Amazingly, whether we believe or not, we are never alone. God is always in our hearts and hears our cries.
